When people talk about "the budget", the numbers are so large they lose perspective. Is $150M a day on Iraq a lot of money? What about $200B on Iraq in total? Well $200B is half the total yearly Defense budget and over 1/4 the total discretionary budget. So yes, it is a lot. As is the increasing amount we are spending to pay the interest on our $8 TRILLION dollar federal debt.
