With all the fuss about Zune recently, I have been thinking about iPods and what I hope Apple will do in the future.
The iPod is a pocket-size device that plays music, video and now casual games. The only thing I do with my iPod is play music so I started thinking about what it would take to change that.
The main thing is a larger screen. The click-wheel is cool but it takes a lot of space. I would much prefer to have a landscape screen that covered most if not all of the device. The interface would have to change but when I think of "handheld video" a giant screen is what I think about.
Based on this patent filing, I am not alone. (For a change :)
Apple has been on a role now for several years, producing fantastic products that work as well as they look. With iTV coming next year (finally), Im excited to see where they take the venerable iPod.
